MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona announces an open call for applications for the position of museum director.
The direction of MACBA involves the artistic, collections-related and strategic management of the museum, as well as its institutional representation. It also entails the development of the artistic programme and its content, and proposals for the acquisition of works of art to form part of the permanent collection.
In this case, candidates must demonstrate a track record or experience in management or in relevant positions in museums and/or contemporary art centres for at least three years. Furthermore, in the first selection phase, candidates must already submit their management project for the institution.
The contract for senior management is valid for five years with the possibility of renewal for a maximum period of three years.
The guidelines are published in the BOPB and on the museum's website and will also be published in the DOGC in the coming days. The deadline for submitting applications is 32 calendar days following the publication of the call for applications on the MACBA website.
