In 2026, The Feuerle Collection celebrates its 10th anniversary by presenting an exhibition with Adam Fuss and a Renaissance drawing attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, opening during Berlin Gallery Weekend. The anniversary also marks a pivotal moment in the institution’s evolution as it becomes Feuerle Puig House.
Founded in 2016 by Désiré Feuerle and Sara Puig, The Feuerle Collection has been conceived as an interdisciplinary institution with a distinctive approach to the arts. Rooted in the curatorial vision of Désiré Feuerle and shaped by the strategic and institutional engagement of Sara Puig, the museum offers an aesthetic language centered on multisensory perception, silence, and sensual presence. A refined light and space design, along with unique juxtapositions curated by Désiré Feuerle, allow artworks to unfold without labels or explanatory texts, creating a dialogue across epochs, cultures, and artistic categories.
Feuerle’s approach has been internationally acclaimed as a significant contribution to contemporary museal practice. The Feuerle Collection has since established itself as a reference point for a holistic way of experiencing art—emphasizing the importance of perception, attentiveness, and emotional resonance when engaging with exhibited works.
The permanent collection, assembled by Désiré Feuerle over decades and carefully installed in a former telecommunications bunker in Berlin, renovated in collaboration with John Pawson, marked the foundation of a broader cultural project. Over the years, the institution has evolved into a multidisciplinary platform encompassing exhibitions, performances, film screenings, fashion presentations, incense and tea ceremonies, sound research, meditation, and environmental initiatives. Since 2022, it has also hosted a dedicated program for young Asian performance artists based in Berlin, establishing a unique space for contemporary artistic practices from East and Southeast Asia, with a focus on dance, music, and calligraphy.
Adam Fuss and a Renaissance drawing attributed to Leonardo da Vinci: a special anniversary exhibition
On the occasion of the tenth anniversary, an exhibition with Adam Fuss will open during Berlin Gallery Weekend. His photographic works have been part of the collection since 2016. For this exhibition, Désiré Feuerle has selected new and recent works, presented alongside an Italian Renaissance drawing attributed to Leonardo da Vinci.
This drawing, dating to the late 15th–early 16th century, depicts a youthful male face with a light beard rendered frontally. It is characterized by delicate tonal gradations, softly modulated contours, and subtle sfumato. The composition demonstrates a refined understanding of proportion and balance, particularly in the treatment of the eyes, the modeling of the nose, and the structure of the mouth.
A new phase: introducing Feuerle Puig House
As the institution enters its second decade, the evolution of its name to Feuerle Puig House reflects its organic development. The new name expresses what the institution has become: a place of continuity, encounter, and cultural exchange. The term House reflects its role as a shared space—rooted in Berlin and open to the world—where diverse communities and a circle of Friends feel at home, and where long-term relationships with artists and audiences have formed.
The new name also acknowledges the sustained role of Sara Puig as co-founder. An internationally respected art historian, she is President of the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona and serves on boards and advisory bodies of leading cultural institutions in Europe. Her experience in museum governance and international cultural networks has been central to the institution’s development and positioning.
From May 1, 2026, the institution will continue under the name Feuerle Puig House, still encompassing The Feuerle Collection as a permanent installation integral to its broader cultural program.
