Open call for the 2027 residents and associate artists
Apply now (until Wednesday, May 20):
–for a 8-week research residency (Residency program, intended for early/mid-career artists from French—excluding Marseille—and international scenes);
–or a year-long opportunity including a studio space, artistic and curatorial support, and the co-production of a new work (Associate Artists program, intended for early/midcareer artists from the local scene) at Triangle-Astérides.
The selection process is completed in two stages:
–during the first stage all applications are read and considered carefully and a preselection process is completed by an independent curator commissioned by Triangle-Astérides (and different each year);
–the second and final stage is a jury selection which takes place over two days in June. The jury is made up of a curator and an artist (French and international representatives), commissioned by Triangle-Astérides (and different each year), and of two members of the Triangle-Astérides team.
Each year, the Triangle-Astérides jury curates a mixed selection in terms of artistic practice, training background, age, gender, nationality(ies) and place of residence.
All applicants will be notified in July 2026.

Triangle-Astérides regularly organizes open studios, performances, readings, guided tours in its exhibition spaces, in Atelier-Assemblée—a space dedicated to events and gatherings—or offsite, as part of its new program of associated audiences or in connection with its exhibitions, resident, associate or guest artists.
Editorial program
Regular programming of texts, conversations, sound or video pieces and digital works by resident, associate or guest artists, curators and researchers.
About us
Founded by artists between 1992 and 1994, Triangle-Astérides is a contemporary art center of national interest located in Marseille. It is unique in that it is a member of a cultural cooperative, the Friche la Belle de Mai, of which it is one of the founding organizations.
Triangle-Astérides brings together exhibitions and research residencies for French and international artists as well as local associate artists. Associate audiences, events, editorial programming, and close attention to cultural mediation to serve the largest possible audience enrich and complete the program. To best meet the needs of each visitor, Triangle-Astérides aims for accessibility whenever possible (PRM, guided tours in FSL, and audio description or easy to read and understand upon request).
Triangle-Astérides has inherited international networks (through the Triangle Network, from which it was created and of which it remains a member organization), national networks, and local networks (through the merger of the Triangle France and Astérides associations in 2018). Connecting these different scales is at the heart of all of its activities. With a view to eco-responsibility, Triangle-Astérides now co-produces all of its exhibitions.
Triangle-Astérides is a nonprofit organization that receives funding from the City of Marseille, the Ministry of Culture—DRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, and the Bouches-du-Rhône Department.
