Visiting Assistant Professors of Architecture (two positions)
The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (APLA) at Auburn University invites applications for two Visiting Assistant Professor positions in Architecture—nine-month, renewable teaching- and research-focused appointments to support designers and scholars working at the forefront of contemporary architectural practice and research.
The Visiting Assistant Professors of Architecture will teach undergraduate design studios and related lecture or seminar courses. We seek designers and scholars whose work integrates design inquiry, material exploration and critical engagement, and who are interested in contributing to a collaborative, studio-centered culture. Faculty in these roles are expected to pursue an inventive research agenda or maintain an active program of creative or scholarly work.
Lecturer in Architecture (one position)
The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (APLA) at Auburn University invites applications for a Lecturer position in Architecture—a nine-month, renewable, teaching-focused appointment centered on design instruction, pedagogy and service within a collaborative, studio-centered academic environment.
The Architecture program seeks candidates whose design practice is grounded in architectural innovation and progressive approaches to teaching and making. The Lecturer in Architecture will teach undergraduate design studios and related courses and contribute to the school through service and curricular engagement. We seek educators with a strong design portfolio and a demonstrated ability to synthesize contemporary issues and disciplinary knowledge in the design of buildings and systems. This position does not carry research expectations.
About APLA
APLA is situated within Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design and Construction, an interdisciplinary environment that brings together architecture, landscape architecture, building science and industrial and graphic design. The school supports design education that is experimental, research-driven, practice-informed and engaged with contemporary social, environmental and technological questions. These appointments begin August 2026.
The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture includes Architecture, Interior Architecture, Environmental Design and Landscape Architecture, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs within the College of Architecture, Design and Construction. The school shares a culture of making, inquiry and public engagement with allied design and building disciplines across the college.
