ARTWORKS presents Signal, Interference, a site-responsive group exhibition unfolding throughout Stavros Niarchos Park, Athens, from June 21–28, 2026, as part of the SNF Nostos from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Bringing together newly commissioned and recent works by Byron Kalomamas, Maria Louizou, Yiannis Loukos, Maria Mavropoulou, Eirini Tiniakou, Theo Triantafyllidis, Maria Tsilogianni and Antrea Tzourovits, the exhibition examines the forces that organize contemporary space and the forms of relation they make possible.
Spanning sculpture, moving image, sound interventions, installation, and participatory practices, Signal, Interference unfolds across the Park’s pathways and thresholds. The exhibition engages public space as a contested terrain where environmental, technological, and social regimes converge, calibrating movement, perception, attention, and encounter.
Across the exhibition, interruption, drift, friction, and resonance emerge as operative conditions. Geological durations encounter computational speeds; ecological pressures intersect with networked architectures; gestures of care circulate alongside extraction, maintenance, and control. Interference appears here as a material and political condition through which dominant arrangements become unstable and other configurations begin to register.
The works gathered in Signal, Interference attend to the infrastructures that shape collective life while opening intervals of disorientation, recalibration, and heightened perception. Through shifts in rhythm, orientation, and proximity, the exhibition invites audiences to consider how shared environments are continuously produced, regulated, and contested and how artistic practice can render these processes newly perceptible.
