Hours: Tuesday–Friday 12–7pm
Saturday–Sunday 11am–7pm
Portikus is pleased to present My Skeleton, an exhibition of recent sculptures by Kobby Adi.
To capture something in words is to delineate its borders, rendering it discernible through linguistic and technical systems.
My Skeleton unfolds out of a desire to bring artwork, viewer, site, interior and exterior into direct relation—to dissolve boundaries, cross thresholds and disregard the fiction of separation.
The exhibition is accompanied by a booklet featuring a series of photographs by artist Nina Porter that document the exhibition and its surroundings.
Curated by Juliane Bischoff.
The exhibition is funded by the Hessian Ministry for Science and Research, Art and Culture, with additional support from Städelschule Portikus e.V.
New visual identity
This season, Portikus introduces a new visual identity developed by Espace Ness. The design draws on Portikus’ unique location on an island in the Main River: Just as the island gives shape to the flow of water around it while also being shaped by the water’s currents, Portikus is continually transformed by the artists and their works—and, in turn, shapes the artworks created for this particular site. The new identity’s distinctive spacing between words draws inspiration from diagrams of flow patterns, evoking the way water contracts and expands as it moves around an object.
