Romanian Art Week connects Romania’s contemporary art scenes with one another and with the international art world. Taking place October 17–25, 2026, it brings together galleries, museums, artists, independent spaces, curators, collectors and cultural institutions through exhibitions, talks, studio visits and encounters.
The 2026 edition unfolds across Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Oradea and Craiova, in partnership with the National Museum of Art of Romania (MNAR), Museum of Recent Art (MARe) and National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC).
Romanian Art Week joins The Spider, an international network connecting Art Weeks and Gallery Weekends across Amsterdam, Antwerp, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Lisbon, London, Oslo, Prague, Stockholm, Vienna and Zurich, strengthening exchange across the region.
The programme brings together artistic practices, institutions, galleries, cultural initiatives and communities through a series of thematic conversations, highlighting the diversity of practices, spaces and networks shaping Romania’s contemporary art scene.

4–5pm: Learning from Each Other. How Art Scenes Are Built, with Philippe Van Cauteren and Iosif Király, moderated by Diana Marincu.
5–6pm: The Role of Brands in Art & Culture, moderated by Andreea Stănculeanu.
6–7pm: What Makes an Art Institution Relevant Today?, with Vesna Maestric, Avi Cicirean and Ioana Enache, moderated by Alex Radu. The talks take place at Universul Palace.
