An international network of cultural changemakers
October 20, 2026
AFIELD announces the 2026 Fellows, recognizing six artists and cultural practitioners whose social initiatives are creating long-term, tangible change within their communities.
Thanks to a new partnership with Storefront for Art and Architecture, and the generosity of a circle of supporters, the AFIELD Fellowship and US$10,000 grant is being awarded for the first time to six practitioners. In response to the compounding crises facing grassroots initiatives today, the organization has doubled its support, expanding from three to six fellowships.

About AFIELD and Storefront
AFIELD is an international network of cultural changemakers anchored in the fundamental belief that artists are essential to the fabric of society, as thinkers and visionaries. Beyond awarding fellowships and grants, AFIELD provides mutual aid, peer discussions, and resources to help practitioners deepen and sustain their work within their local contexts. Through its expanding network, AFIELD facilitates cross-border collaboration and builds infrastructures for socially engaged practice "in action", bringing arts and culture to the foreground of social experimentation and transformational change. AFIELD Fellows are collectively selected by the network each year.
