MIT Future Fest a new five-day festival that opens MIT’s doors to the world, launches next week, September 30–October 4, 2026. Last Chance passes are now available; join an urgent conversation about how curiosity and imagination can change the world.
The inaugural edition of MIT Future Fest brings together over 100 visionary leaders working on the frontiers of AI, quantum, health, climate, energy, public policy, contemporary art, design, and more for 50+ events in their focused fields.
Flagship events
The Future Starts Here (Wednesday, September 30): The opening salvo of MIT Future Fest, with Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, MIT President Sally Kornbluth and other visionary leaders, setting the tone for five days of discovery.
Sensing Oceans at the MIT Museum (Wednesday, September 30): Dive into a groundbreaking new exhibition exploring humanity’s relationship with the ocean and the innovations shaping its future.
Party Like it’s 2099 (Friday, October 2): The evening will feature a lineup of artists and collaborators working across music, technology, and moving image, including vibecoding and live audiovisual experiments. Co-presented by BLKNWS, Sojourn Boston, and Basement Project.
Introducing the MET Warehouse (Saturday, October 3): Step inside MIT’s bold new hub for design. Watch as one of campus’s most anticipated creative spaces opens its doors for the first time, revealing the intersection of design, engineering, and possibility.
Cambridge Science Carnival Brings Wonder to All Ages (Sunday, October 4): A day of discovery for the whole family. From hands-on installations to interactive experiments, Carnival proves that the future belongs to everyone curious enough to explore it.

The festival foregrounds creative leaders in critical, timely fields from quantum and AI to climate, health and life sciences, united in their dedication to shaping our shared horizon. Every experience is tailored to connect with one or more of MIT’s strategic initiatives—the major cross-cutting bets that the MIT community is making on the future. These initiatives represent not just research priorities but a statement of institutional purpose: that the world’s most pressing problems demand the kind of convergent, interdisciplinary work that defines MIT’s mission.
