The Loeb Fellowship at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) is now accepting applications for the Loeb Fellowship Class of 2028. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, January 5, 2027, at 11:59pm ET. Full application details are available on the Loeb Fellowship website.
The Loeb Fellowship is a 10-month, full-time residential fellowship for mid-career practitioners whose work is advancing positive social outcomes through the shaping of the built and natural environments. Each Fellow will receive a stipend and housing in Cambridge and will have access to the educational resources of both Harvard and MIT over the course of the academic year.
The Loeb Fellowship encourages applications from a wide range of exceptional practitioners in the United States and around the world with a minimum of eight years of experience in their fields. Past Fellows have included urban planners and designers, public artists, landscape architects, journalists, architects, activists, farmers, public servants, policymakers, and community development leaders, among other professions. Loeb Fellows join a lifelong alumni community of over 500 diverse and engaged professionals, whose work and leadership shape society and positively impact urban, rural, and wild environments.
The Loeb Fellowship seeks to build a diverse cohort each year of professionals across a multitude of perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. Practitioners with experience in diverse community settings are encouraged to apply. The Fellowship does not have educational or degree requirements. We welcome applicants who plan to come to Cambridge on their own, as well as those who wish to bring their partners or families with them.
For practicing artists engaged in the built and natural environments, the Loeb Fellowship has partnered with the ArtLab at Harvard University to offer one candidate from each Loeb cohort an opportunity to augment their Loeb year with access to additional space and research opportunities. Candidates interested in the Loeb/ArtLab Fellowship may apply as part of the standard Loeb Fellowship application process.
Loeb Alumni are available to help candidates learn more about the Fellowship experience, via the Fellowship’s new alumni “Connect” platform.
The Loeb Fellowship will offer two Zoom webinars for interested candidates to learn more and ask questions on Monday, November 9: one at 8:00 am ET and one at 4:00 pm ET. The webinar presentation will be recorded and placed on the Loeb Fellowship website, along with answers to questions asked during the sessions.
