The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo of Santiago city was founded in 1947, and depends on the University of Chile. It´s the largest and most important museum dedicated to both modern and contemporary art in Chile. It owns a collection of over 2600 artworks, and features exhibitions program that showcases Chilean and international artists. Nowadays, the MAC has two venues in Santiago, both located in buildings that are Historic National Monuments: Parque Forestal and Quinta Normal.
