Uniarts Helsinki = Academy of Fine Arts + Sibelius Academy + Theatre Academy

The University of the Arts Helsinki (Uniarts Helsinki), located in Finland’s capital Helsinki, offers the highest education in fine arts, music, theatre and dance. The university provides high-quality education that considers students’ individual needs, encouraging them to hone their craft, think independently and push boundaries. The university’s world-class education has received international acclaim. In 2017 for example, one of Uniarts Helsinki’s academies, the Sibelius Academy, was ranked in the top ten of the world’s best performing arts schools by QS World University Rankings by Subject.

Uniarts Helsinki’s Academy of Fine Arts is an international academy that trains independent artists. It offers first-class instruction in Moving Image, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Site and Situation Specific Art and Sculpture, and is a pioneer in artistic research. Integral to the studies are the students’ personal aspirations, interactions between the teachers and the students, and individual guidance.

Uniarts Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy is one of the largest music academies in Europe. It trains artists, teachers and other music professionals, all skilled in independent artistic work. As a creative community of 1,500 students and a staff of more than 1,000, the Sibelius Academy is an inspiring study environment with an internationally diverse mix of students and teachers.

Uniarts Helsinki’s Theatre Academy is a reformer of the performing arts. It provides the highest education in the performing arts in Finland, training actors, directors, dramaturges, lighting and sound designers, professionals in dance (choreographers and dancers), performance artists, dance and theatre pedagogues and artist-researchers in the fields of theatre, dance and performance.
