The Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) is a non-profit consortium of the 42 leading art and design colleges in the US and Canada. Founded in 1991, the organization’s mission is to help strengthen the member colleges individually and collectively, and to inform the public about these colleges and the value of studying art and design. AICAD provides numerous benefits to students and alumni, including collaborative international exchange programs, alumni networking events, shared resources on issues such as environmental and community sustainability, and the Post Graduate Teaching Fellowship which seeks to provide teaching opportunities for highly qualified AICAD school alumni from populations that are underrepresented in higher education.
