The New York Studio School offers a significant education to the aspiring artist with a goal of encouraging a life long practice. Our aim is to establish appropriate questioning in drawing, painting and sculpture and to encourage students to work hard and think rigorously at all times. With a deep, intense and physical practice, students are enabled to construct an ethical and philosophical framework for their life’s work. The graduating MFA or Certificate student leaves the School with a developed understanding of the language of art; an enlarged imagination stirred by an established work ethic and with the passion and ambition it takes to be an artist.
The School also has semester long evening and weekend classes open for registration to the public.
Talks, lectures and exhibitions are free and open to the public, please see our website for programs.
