The Kunsthalle zu Kiel is an art museum in Kiel and, with 2,000 m² of exhibition space, is the largest museum in the state capital. The Kunsthalle is located north of the city centre on Düsternbrooker Weg - close to the castle gardens and the Kiel Fjord. Since 25 September 2023, the Kunsthalle zu Kiel and the Collection of Classical Antiquities have been closed for renovation. Around 49.5 million euros are being invested in the renovation of the historic building. Around 30 million euros of this will come from the IMPULS infrastructure modernisation programme of the state of Schleswig-Holstein and almost 19.5 million euros from the federal government's KulturInvest programme.

The collection of the Kunsthalle spans from the times in which Albrecht Dürer worked and lived to the present. It comprises more than 1200 paintings and 300 sculptures, among them works by Emil Nolde, Georg Baselitz, Neo Rauch, and Gerhard Richter. The graphic collection has 30,000 works of art, among them sheets by masters such as Rembrandt, Adolf Menzel, and Otto Dix, and also includes photographic prints and video artworks. The holdings are exhibited in different annual presentations.
