Arta Sperto

Arta Sperto (meaning “artistic experience in Esperanto) is a nomadic organisation that curates, produces, presents and publishes multi- and cross-disciplinary artistic projects. With no fixed base, Arta Sperto develops its projects in a range of venues, both independently and in collaboration with institutions and cultural partners.

Arta Sperto seeks to champion and showcase as effectively as possible the cross-disciplinary practice that many artists now embrace as a matter of course, even as contemporary culture continues to be shaped by divisions of field, whether through policy, institutions, funding structures or the media.

The organisation runs two alternating biennial events: Dance First Think Later, which explores the intersections of dance, performance, visual art and moving image; and KorSonoR, dedicated to sound and visual arts. Through these twin events, Arta Sperto is paving the way for a future transdisciplinary art centre – a single space where visual, sonic and performing arts can truly coexist.
