The Mitchell Art Gallery (MAG) is MacEwan University’s public gallery committed to presenting art exhibitions, programs, and publications that feature diverse artistic and curatorial perspectives committed to critical discourses in contemporary art. The MAG supports interdisciplinary, experiential learning for the public and university community. Located in the heart of downtown Edmonton on Treaty 6 Territory, MAG programming also serves the local community through emphasizing safe, collaborative and relevant opportunities for learning and visual literacy development. MAG initiatives reinforce MacEwan University’s mandate through innovative approaches to program delivery and community development. The MAG supports opportunities for students to develop academic, practical and leadership skills to support their futures as artists, cultural workers, and lifelong critical thinkers.

The MAG is a part of MacEwan University’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications. The faculty supports dynamic and student-centred learning environments through undergraduate programs in studio Arts, design, arts and cultural management, communication, music and theatre.
