Since 1998 the George & Aristea Mamidakis Foundation has been actively supporting and promoting contemporary art, culture, and artistic creation.
Based in Crete, the Foundation brings together artists, researchers, and audiences through commissions, residencies, educational initiatives, and a growing collection of site-specific contemporary artworks.
Through long-term initiatives, such as the annual Art Prize and the Research Residency Programme, the Foundation creates the conditions for the emergence of new voices in contemporary artistic practice.
Education and the promotion of lifelong learning are also central to the Foundation's work, advanced through educational programmes that engage audiences of all ages with contemporary art and culture.
