The Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde, Denmark was established in 1991 in the aftermath of the Fluxus festival Festival of Fantastics, which took place in Roskilde in 1985. Over time, the museum has supported and collected experimental art from 1960 and up to the present day, focusing on time based art forms such as performance and sound art.

In 2021, the museum moved out of Roskilde Palace and became Denmark’s first itinerant art museum. The aim is to create an accessible, engaged, and shapeshifting museum that explores new ways of showing contemporary art.
