PLATFORM is a multi-faceted art space in Munich, Germany. It acts as an exhibition space for contemporary art, offers traineeships in the broad field of cultural management, and organizes a diverse range of projects, exhibitions and educational activities for artists. The combination of professional training-on-the-job and the provision of art studios and an exhibition space makes PLATFORM unique in the German cultural scene.
As a non-commercial art space, PLATFORM offers aspiring cultural managers and curators the possibility to shape their professional identities. It provides an open environment in which they can carry out their project ideas, exhibitions, symposia, workshops or other events.
PLATFORM constantly generates new impulses for the local art scene, whether through international exhibitions that reflect current art debates, such as Beyond the Spectacle, BeLonging, German Pavilion at the Gwangju Biennale 2024, projects in public space (Kunst Kioske) or the UPDATE education series.
Since 2009, PLATFORM has been funded by the Munich Employment and Qualification Program (MBQ) of the Department of Labor and Economic Development. The program is run by the Münchner Arbeit gGmbH (non-for-profit).
