AHA Collective

AHA collective is a Yerevan-based curatorial practice founded in 2019 by art historian and curator Nairi Khatchadourian. Dedicated to fostering contemporary art in Armenia, AHA collective operates at the intersection of research, artistic production, exhibition-making, and editorial work. Its curatorial methodology is rooted in sustained fieldwork, exploring museum collections, archives, landscapes, heritage, and local communities, while actively reimagining modes of artistic creation, exhibition-making, and independent publishing. Through site-specific interventions and context-responsive projects, Nairi Khatchadourian cultivates a commitment to curating as a social and political act, one that engages with critical museology, overlooked narratives, and fragile geographies.

Since its founding, AHA collective has developed curatorial projects both in Armenia and internationally, with the guiding principle to contribute to a greater understanding of the living and evolving history of Armenian art and its global diaspora. In 2024, AHA collective opened its own gallery space in the heart of Yerevan, presenting the work of artists from Armenia and the diaspora who operate across disciplines and beyond conventional artistic circuits. Alongside exhibitions, the gallery hosts public programming including talks, workshops, and conversations, actively working to expand public awareness of the richness, complexity, and contemporary relevance of Armenian art.
