Gennevilliers Art Center

Founded in 1968, EMBA / Galerie Édouard Manet is one of the oldest contemporary art centres in the Île-de-France region. It has 660 m² of studio space, a 130 m² exhibition gallery, a conference room, and a documentation centre.

EMBA / Galerie Édouard Manet is a multidisciplinary cultural institution at the intersection of artistic creation, education, and knowledge transmission. It brings together several complementary departments:

• A contemporary art centre dedicated to the exhibition, production, and dissemination of artworks;
• Villa Manet, a residency programme welcoming one artist each year for a one-year period;
• A public preparatory programme for admission to higher art schools, and a member of the national APPEA network;
• A municipal fine arts school, offering classes for children, teenagers, and adults across a range of artistic media;
• A documentation centre housing more than two thousand books and specialised journals.

Supported by the City of Gennevilliers, the DRAC Île-de-France, DCA, the TRAM network, the Île-de-France Region, and the Hauts-de-Seine Department, EMBA – Galerie Édouard Manet plays a key role as a resource centre for contemporary artistic creation and as an institution firmly rooted in its local community.
