The Secession, also known as the Vienna Secession, is a renowned art institution and movement founded in 1897 by a group of Austrian artists, architects, and designers who sought to break away from the traditional academic art establishment. The movement and its associated exhibition space, the Secession Building, have played a pivotal role in the development of modern art and architecture.
