ForwArt

Launched in 2000, ForwArt was an initiative of the Bank Brussels Lambert (BBL) started with the goal of promoting international contemporary art in Belgium. Following a biennial timeline, ForwArt hoped to provide young and emerging artists with the platform for realizing their daring ideas and projects. In 2002, for the second edition of ForwArt, BBL invited four curators–Lynne Cooke, Chris Dercon, Robert Fleck, and Hans Ulrich Obrist–to select fourteen artists who were asked to create projects they had not yet realized without any thematic constraints.
