The Tucci Russo Gallery was established in 1975 in Turin by Antonio Tucci Russo, and under his and Lisa Tucci Russo’s direction, has served as a center for the study and research on the sculpture and its developments. In 1994 the Tucci Russo Gallery moved to Torre Pellice, a small town near Turin, where it occupies about 1.200 m2 of exhibition space in a fascinating former textile mill. The gallery opened a second venue in 2017, the Tucci Russo Chambres d’Art, in an historical building in the centre of Turin.
They are known for their exhibitions of Pier Paolo Calzolari, Giovanni Anselmo, Mario Merz, Marisa Merz, Giulio Paolini Giuseppe Penone, and other members of the Arte Povera group. Their list of artists, new and established, exhibited is extensive—most prominently: Remo Salvadori, Marco Bagnoli, Enzo Cucchi, Sandro, Chia Daniel Buren, Tony Cragg, Lili Dujourie, Harald Klingelhöller, Richard Long, Paolo Mussat Sartor, Maria Nordman, Alfredo Pirri, Thomas Schütte, Jan Vercruysse, Mario Airò, Christiane Löhr, Paolo Piscitelli, and Robin Rhode and Conrad Shawcross.
