Bar Laika presents Playback 002 with Afrikan Sciences

Join us at Bar Laika on Sunday, May 28 from 6-9pm for the second edition of Playback with Afrikan Sciences! 

Eric Douglas Porter aka Afrikan Sciences has been deconstructing and re-building forms of contemporary Black music since the early 2000s, through releases on labels such as Deepblak (the label he co-ran with Armon Bazile aka Aybee), PAN, Firecracker Recordings, and ESP Institute, and his own imprint, The Student Body Presents, among many. For Playback 002 Eric will be playing recordings from his Afrikan Sciences archives and other releases under various monikers in his discography. 

Playback is a series of listening events curated by Kamran Sadeghi where record labels, musicians, composers, and producers feature recordings from their catalog, and premiere album pre-releases, archives, and other rarities.
