Time to Talk about Art: Maria Lind in conversation with Doug Ashford, Mary Walling Blackburn, Naeem Mohaiemen, and Emily Segal (K-HOLE)

Naeem Mohaiemen is a writer and artist working across film, photography, drawing, archives, and essays. His work explores the intertwined histories of South Asia, decolonization, borders, and the global left, often beginning from the postcolonial markers of 1947 and 1971 and radiating outward to unstable transnational alliances. His work has been presented at documenta 14, the 56th Venice Biennale, Tate Britain, MoMA, Kunsthalle Basel, and many other institutions and festivals. He was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 2018 and is Associate Professor of Visual Arts at Columbia University

Maria Lind is a curator, writer, and educator based in Stockholm and Kiruna. Since 2023, she has been the director of the Kin Museum of Contemporary Art in Kiruna. From 2020 to 2023 she served as the counsellor of culture at the embassy of Sweden in Moscow. She was the director of Stockholm’s Tensta konsthall (2011–18), the artistic director of the 11th Gwangju Biennale, the director of the graduate program, Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College (2008–10), and director of Iaspis in Stockholm (2005–07). She has taught widely since the early 1990s, including as a professor of artistic research at the Art Academy in Oslo (2015–18), and as a lecturer at Konstfack’s CuratorLab.

Mary Walling Blackburn is an artist and a writer living in North America.

Doug Ashford is a teacher, artist, and writer. He is Professor at The Cooper Union, where he has taught since 1989. His principal practice from 1982 to 1996 was as a member of the artists collaborative Group Material. A collection of his work, Writings and Interviews was published by Mousse Publishing and Grazer Kunstverein in 2013.
