Join us at e-flux on Saturday, February 28, at 7pm for a listening session and discussion about artists’ records with Adrian Rew and Bob Nickas in a live segment of their occasional radio show Art Sound & Song hosted by Montez Press Radio. They will be exploring the twin poles of "sound" and "song" as categories of audio recordings made by artists who primarily work in the visual realm. The evening will include a special live set by XXX Macarena, the duo of artist-musicians Jutta Koether and John Miller

Adrian Rew is the founder of Ergot Records and has been a DJ, curator, translator, and music maker.

Bob Nickas is a writer and curator, and founder of the New York Art Critics Association.

XXX Macarena began as an experimental music project with Koether on synth and Miller on guitar. In 2007, they appeared as a quartet at Friedrich Petzel Gallery with the addition of Mike Kelley and Tony Conrad, before evolving into a trio with Conrad. This is the lineup that performed in 2009 at Kunsthalle Zurich. The recording of that performance was released as XXX Macarena in 2010 by Primary Information and From the Nursery (Nickas's record label).

Montez Press Radio is an experimental broadcasting and performance platform. They were founded in 2018 with the goal of fostering greater experimentation and conversation between artists, writers, and thinkers through the medium of radio.

The program of sound performances at e-flux is curated by Sanna Almajedi.
