Days and Nights of Demetra K.

Demetra is a sex worker, activist and owner of one of the oldest brothels in Athens. By following her everyday life for twelve years, the camera inevitably chronicles the way Athens is affected by the recent financial crisis.

This screening is part of Role Models, the first chapter of the film program Queer Strategies and Tentacles, curated by Rosa Barotsi and Zairong Xiang, and unfolding in eight chapters between November 11th, 2024 and March 2, 2025, with the films of each chapter streaming for two weeks.
