Neimenovani fragmenti #2 [Fragments Untitled #2 ]

Using sequences from one of Yugoslavia’s most popular television series, “A Better Life,” the work Fragments Untitled #2 reveals images that testify to the accelerated political and economic changes in Yugoslavia during the 1980s and in the early 1990s.

Fragments Untitled is a ongoing series of works through which doplgenger researches the politics of media images that participated in creating the historical narratives of Yugoslavia in the period of 1980–2000, especially media images that performed the pretext to the Yugoslav Wars and the breakup of Yugoslavia. Fragments Untitled are media traces of certain important events in collective memory and are based on private archives of citizens who recorded television shows in the 1990s on VHS recorders.
