The first in a series of six tapes about a Los Angeles woman, portrayed in drag and in extreme close-up by Campbell, who recites bits from her life with details by turns glamorous and macabre.

The Woman From Malibu is presented alongside The Scientist Tapes, part 1, The Ballad of Dan Peoples, and The Temperature in Lima as part of the May 2026 edition of e-flux Film’s series Staff Picks featuring Lisa Steele and Colin Campbell.
