I Love NY art benefit

Following the 9/11 attacks, the David Zwirner gallery in New York City hosted a benefit exhibition entitled “I ♥ NY” from October 19 to November 3, 2001. Many members of the art community responded to the idea of this benefit exhibition, and the initiative culminated in a citywide benefit in which many artists and over 130 galleries participated. To support families of victims, 100% of the funds raised by the participating galleries benefited the Robin Hood Relief Fund.

The benefit exhibition at David Zwirner included sculptures by John McCracken, Franz West, Yutaka Sone, Jason Rhoades, and Rachel Khedoori; photographs by Gordon MattaClark, Thomas Ruff, Christopher Williams and Stan Douglas; videos by Diana Thater and Katy Schimert; new paintings by Neo Rauch, Luc Tuymans, Raoul de Keyser and On Kawara; and new drawings by Toba Khedoori, Raymond Pettibon, Marcel Dzama and Jockum Nordström.
