Kavi Gupta Gallery Berlin is proud to announce Spider, a new solo exhibition by Los Angeles artist Melanie Schiff. Comprising the exhibition are select photos Schiff created during her residency at the prestigious Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas.

Melanie Schiff (b. 1977 in Chicago) lives and works in Los Angeles. Recent museum exhibitions include Between Spaces (2009) at P.S.1|MOMA in NYC, Elements Of Photography (2009) at the Museum Of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Unknown Pleasures (2008) at the Aspen Art Museum in Aspen, Colorado, and the 2008 Whitney Biennial. Schiff has also been included in a number of gallery exhibitions including Shadows Don’t Cast Shadows (2009) at Meyer Riegger in Karlsruhe, Melanie Schiff (2009) at Horton & Co. in NYC, and Autonomy (2005) at Foxy Production in NYC. Spider is Schiff’s fourth solo exhibition with Kavi Gupta Gallery and her first exhibition at the gallery’s Berlin space.
