With Summer School as School, Stacion – Center for Contemporary Art Prishtina and partner institutions have created a unique collaborative international platform based in Prishtina, developing an interdisciplinary curriculum and engaging practitioners to share knowledge and expertise with international students and the public.

Originally inspired by the case of Kosovo, where the education system was structured in the mid-1970s, Summer School as School is designed to bring together and disseminate critical knowledge and address relevant challenges of today, implementing new models and possibilities in art education and artistic collaboration.

After running for the past years to much success, this year’s Summer School builds its agenda upon the various perspectives and experiences that theoretically and practically reflect and challenge the ongoing regional history and its connections to broader art and society. Through situations that escape the normal limits, Summer School as a School seeks to intertwine knowledge and practice related to artistic, cultural, political, institutional and civil society in order to explore and position this region in relation to its international and global coordinates.

Summer School as School 2018 course teachers have compiled a challenging and inspiring program, organized July 16–August 2, 2018, combining theory-based and production classes.
