Objectives of the Biennale:
The main goal of the 3rd edition of the Biennale of Ceramics in Contemporary Art is to foster an undisciplined hybridization of ceramic, design and contemporary art. The exhibition will present the results of 2 years of activities that focus on the interaction and co-existence of multiple and unique interests within a geographic area with deeply-rooted ceramic traditions (Albisola, Savona, Vado Ligure), involving artists and designers, museum curators, critics, art and design historians, ceramic laboratories and hi-tech companies, professional training centres, universities and fine arts academies in a single field of action.
All exhibited works and prototypes have been created over the last two years for Attese Biennale of Ceramics in Contemporary Art and are completely new.

Scientific research:
The exhibition will present three new scientific research projects commissioned by the Biennale.
– Piero Manzoni and Albisola by Francesca Pola, art historian, was developed in collaboration with the Piero Manzoni Archive in Milan.
– Asger Jorns home in Albisola was developed by Roberto Ohrt, independent curator and historian of the Situationist International.
– Technological innovation and ceramic craftsmanship by Niccolò Casiddu, expert in design components and materials, was commissioned to the Department of Science of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture (Genoa) and developed in collaboration with Technimold, a hi-tech company in Genoa, and with craftsmen from the Ceramic District in the Province of Savona.
