The University of Fine Arts Münster (Kunstakademie Münster) is filling a vacancy for a Professorship for Expanded Painting (W2) to start in the summer semester of 2025.
We are looking for an internationally recognised artist with an outstanding body of work, significant exhibition activities and the qualification to lead an artistic class.
An engagement with current developments in contemporary art is a prerequisite.
The requirements for employment are set out in Section 29 KunstHG NRW (Art Colleges Act of the State of NRW). In addition to the general requirements under service law, prerequisites include, among others, a completed degree, usually in the arts, and outstanding artistic achievement. However, an appointment may also be made on the basis of a special aptitude for artistic work. The willingness to participate in the administration oft he academy and to help shape the university is assumed. Knowledge of German could be an advantage in this context.
The University of Fine Arts sees itself as an equal opportunities university and advocates diversity in its staff. The position is open to people of all genders (m/f/d). We expressly welcome applications from women. In case of equal suitability, severely disabled applicants will be given preferential consideration.
The university qualifies about half of its students in the Fine Arts degree course and half of them in teacher training programmes. At the heart of this teaching is the joint studying in artistic classes and classroom colloquia. In addition to the international faculty, the University of Fine Arts Münster features excellent workshops. This also applies in particular to the expertise and technical facilities in the field of painting.
We look forward to receiving your digital-only application, which we ask you to submit as a single PDF file through our online portal by June 22, 2024.
