Parkett

Parkett’s exhibition “200 Artworks – 25 Years” is on view at Singapore’s STPI from May 22 – July 17, 2010. The retrospective of all editions made by artists for Parkett provides a concise overview of developments in contemporary art over the last 25 years. “Commissioned by Parkett, the most important artists of our time have created editions that represent the essence of their art or reveal an unexpected dimension … the works cover every possible medium including painting, photographs, drawings, prints, sculptures, videos, DVDs, and sound pieces.” (The Whitechapel Art Gallery, London) The exhibition space at the STPI Singapore is transformed into five rooms: a Studio, a Playroom, a Wardrobe, a City and a Garden. The presentation ends with a Reading Room where viewers can browse in Parkett’s volumes. Also on view are artists’ sketches, letters and other material documenting the direct collaboration between artists and Parkett. The show is accompanied by the fully documented catalogue raisonné “200 Artworks – 25 Years”. The exhibition, previously on view in Kanazawa, Japan (21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art), New York (Museum of Modern Art), London (Whitechapel Art Gallery), Zurich (Kunsthaus) and other places will travel to further venues in Asia, Europe and the Americas. The Singapore Tyler Print Institute (STPI), collaborates with outstanding artists from around the world, creating prints and unique works on paper as well as an ongoing exhibition program. From May 26-30, Parkett will participate at Asia’s leading international Art Fair in Hong Kong (ARTHK10), where it will present selected works and a multimedia survey on “200 Artworks – 25 Years”.
