Join us at Bar Laika for the 25th edition of Satellite, featuring a live music performance by Nick Klein and a DJ-set by Wilted Woman. Psychic Liberation is a publishing platform based in Berlin, co-founded and run by Nick Klein. They have released music in digital and physical format (cassettes and vinyl), as well as zines and prints. Since 2014, Psychic Liberation has published three works by Wilted Woman.

Nick Klein is a Berlin-based artist working in the intersection of sound and visual art. He has recorded a large amount of music for various music labels around the world, and he runs his own amorphous label PL (Primitive Languages and Psychic Liberation). Concurrently, to the best of his ability, he has shown work in visual art contexts. Klein is uninterested in the prohibitive ideological tropes and circumstances that both contexts offer, and focuses the intent of his work on the productive energy that comes from the friction between the two. Earlier this year, Klein programmed and exhibited work at SARA’S, a new exhibition space in Manhattan’s Chinatown. The program, Bring The Flowers To The Theatre, consisted of five weeks of art, music and lectures by dozens of artists that are committed to independent artistic communities and practices. Klein has a monthly radio show on Montez Press Radio since its inception and, in the next year, he will be developing a monthly invitational program at the Berlin Volksbühne Roter Salon with collaborator Hugo Esquinca.

Wilted Woman is the alias of Berlin-based composer, musician, and radio host Elizabeth Davis. Her music defies easy categorization—it is constructed with a combination of self-made instruments and software, violin, drum machines, bluetooth peripherals, and other sounding objects. In addition to her solo work, she regularly collaborates with Silvia Kastel as Shakey, with Christoph de Babalon as Suds, and with Nick Klein. Over the last decade, she has performed at venues and festivals across Europe and North America including Sonic Acts, Cafe Oto, Transmediale, ZKM, Fylkingen, Meakusma, and Volksbühne, as well as countless basements, clubs, restaurants, and living rooms.

Satellite is a monthly experimental music series curated by Sanna Almajedi.
