With around 2100 Bachelor’s and Master’s students, ZHdK is one of the largest arts universities in Europe. Would you like to become an artist? In the Bachelor’s Major in Fine Arts you develop the foundations of your personal artistic practice, gain insights into the field of contemporary art, and make first steps towards a professional art practice. What makes it unique in Switzerland is the range of artists teaching, covering a wide spectrum of media and approaches. It is the only bilingual Fine Arts BA in Switzerland in German and English. Our programme brings together renowned (inter)national artists, curators and art theoreticians to support you on your path to becoming an artist.

In the Master's Major in Fine Arts, you deepen your artistic practice. Here you can find your audience and have an opportunity to develop your practical and theoretical knowledge, consolidate your artistic research, while exploring different contexts of contemporary art at the same time.

Master Fine Arts, Major in Art:ificial Studies

In the Master’s Major in Art:ificial Studies, you deepen your artistic practice with a focus on AI, net culture, performativity in online space, hacking or coding. You reflect on how these contexts influence artistic production in different media and learn to use tools and materials with critical intent.
