Chapter III—doplgenger: February 18–March 3, 2026
e-flux Film is pleased to share that Chapter III of “General Relativity, Take Two,” an online screening series curated by Greg de Cuir Jr. on the cinema and politics of artist duos, is now streaming. The chapter presents three works by doplgenger (Isidora Ilić and Boško Prostran), available to watch online through Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Chapter III features Fragments Untitled #1 (2012), Fragments Untitled #2 (2014), and Fragments Untitled #6 (2022). Across these works, doplgenger uses video to investigate the media codes that structure society and sometimes orchestrate its collapse. The country formerly known as Yugoslavia remains a persistent reference point, and their practice turns to the wreckage of state socialism and neoliberal capitalism to recover lost worlds and political possibilities.
Next up, Chapter IV streams March 4–17, 2026 and centers Claudrena N. Harold and Kevin Jerome Everson’s ongoing collaboration Black Fire, which excavates and uplifts Black cultural history at the University of Virginia. Chapter V follows March 18–31, 2026 with Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, whose work sits at the crossroads of art and film, and returns to Lebanon as a site for documentary inquiry and experimental form.
Running from January 7 to March 31, 2026, “General Relativity, Take Two” spans six chapters, each streaming for two weeks on e-flux Film. Moving between historical and contemporary practices, the series asks how two think and act as one, and how shared authorship, shared life, and shared politics reshape artistic production. The program features works by Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub, Maria Iorio and Raphaël Cuomo, OJOBOCA (Anja Dornieden and Juan David Gonzalez Monroy), doplgenger (Isidora Ilić and Boško Prostran), Claudrena N. Harold and Kevin Jerome Everson, and Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige. Companion texts are forthcoming, including Greg de Cuir Jr.'s correspondence with each of the five duos.
