La Becque Artist Residency is pleased to announce the artists selected for its Principal Residency Program, who will be in residence between May 2027 and March 2028.
Selected from more than 1,200 applications, sixteen new residency projects will take shape at La Becque between 2027 and 2028 as part of its Principal Residency Program. Working across visual arts, writing, performance, music, sound, and interdisciplinary practices, the selected artists were chosen for proposals offering original perspectives on the themes central to La Becque’s programs: the interplay between nature, the environment, and technology, as seen through the lens of artistic practice.
La Becque looks forward to welcoming the following residents between May 2027 and March 2028: Josefin Arnell (Sweden), Rizvana Bradley (United States), iahra (Brazil), Luna Mahoux (Belgium), Lou Masduraud (France), Nkisi (Belgium), Mimi Ọnụọha (Nigeria/United States), Jaakko Pallasvuo (Finland), Natalia Papaeva (Netherlands), Riar Rizaldi (Indonesia), TJ Shin (Canada), Aleksandra Słyż (Poland), Cally Spooner (United Kingdom/Italy), Tashi Wada (United States), and Günseli Yalçınkaya (United Kingdom/Turkey).
Selected by the jury in this year’s round, Jean-Vincent Simonet (France) will join our previously announced Winter 2027 Principal Residency Program cohort (Nursalim Yadi Anugerah, Mélanie Courtinat, Shuang Li, Ashkan Sepahvand) for a residency during the first quarter of 2027.
The 2027/28 jury brought together a transdisciplinary group of artists, curators, musicians, and cultural practitioners: Mohamed Almusibli (director, Kunsthalle Basel), François J. Bonnet (composer and director, INA GRM Paris), Jessica Ekomane (musician and sound artist, Berlin), Stefanie Hessler (curator, writer, and director, Swiss Institute New York), Deborah-Joyce Holman (artist and curator, London), Nora Nahid Khan (curator, editor, and author, Los Angeles), Samuel Leuenberger (director, SALTS Exhibition Space Basel), Anthony Pateras (composer and musician, Djaara/Castlemaine), Fondation Françoise Siegfried-Meier trustee Anne-Catherine de Perrot, and La Becque’s Vanessa Cimorelli (Curator), Lucas Erin (Head of Production and Artist Relations), and Luc Meier (director).
La Becque’s Principal Residency Program emphasizes time for reflection and research rather than production. Deeply convinced of the importance of such phases in the artistic process, La Becque is committed to supporting inquiry, experimentation, and other transitional modes of artistic work.
Located on the shores of Lake Geneva in La Tour-de-Peilz, Switzerland, La Becque is an artist residency dedicated to supporting artistic research and experimentation across disciplines. Through its residency programs, public events, publications, and collaborations with cultural institutions in Switzerland and internationally, La Becque provides artists with a space for research, exchange, and the development of their practices.

Alongside the Principal Residency Program, La Becque will continue its residency partnerships with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, Images Vevey, Plateforme 10 (mudac, Photo Elysée, and MCBA), and the Olympic Museum, with further partnerships and guests to be announced.
La Becque’s next international call for applications, for residencies to be held between May 2028 and March 2029, will open in March 2027.
