The Martell Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of its glass workshop to professional commissions from artists, designers and creators, as well as from institutions and art galleries. Designed as a space for experimentation and innovation, the foundation provides access to its resources and the expertise of its master glassmakers, Gaëtan Oheix and Valentin Rizzo, for the creation of bespoke works.
Previously accessible exclusively through applications or production partnerships, the glass workshop is now more widely open with this new fee-based proposal, hence strengthening the foundation’s position in supporting creation and innovation around glass.
Personalized support is provided at every stage: from the initial design to technical advice, through prototyping to final production. With their mastery of glassmaking techniques, Gaëtan Oheix and Valentin Rizzo work closely with creators to bring their artistic visions to life. Their expertise includes freehand glassblowing as well as mold-blown work, in solid or blown glass. They also practice a wide range of complementary processes such as cold working, cutting, and kiln‑formed glass (pâte de verre), allowing them to adapt to a variety of artistic and technical requirements.
The glassmakers at the Martell Foundation encourage artists, designers, architects, and institutions to explore the myriad possibilities offered by glass. They also welcome artists who wish to experiment and incorporate glass into their practice, even if they are not specialized in this discipline.
