Artissima, the only fair in Italy exclusively devoted to contemporary art, returns to Turin from October 30 to November 1, with a preview on October 29.
Alongside its high-level market offering, the fair continues to present a multitude of cultural and educational projects, connecting audiences with new perspectives both close to home and further afield.
The collaboration between Intesa Sanpaolo and Artissima continues with the exhibition dedicated to moving images at Gallerie d’Italia–Torino. Curated by Alice Motard, NO FUTURE adopts a subjective and unapologetic stance to explore the idea that it has become difficult, if not impossible, to imagine a shared and desirable future. The exhibition brings together films and videos created by artists between 2000 and 2026.
At the former Zoo of Turin, on the façade of the building that once housed giraffes and elephants, Artissima, in collaboration with Città di Torino, presents a special project for the fourth consecutive year. I Left Something in the Woods (2025) by the duo Hedda Roman–represented by the Düsseldorf gallery Sies + Höke–is a 4K-HDR short film accompanied by a soundtrack by DECHA (Viktoria Wehrmeister). The film features skeletal leviathans that transform domestic spaces into ruins haunted by forces bearing down on the present.
For the seventh year of its collaboration with Artissima, the ballroom of the historic Hotel Principi di Piemonte | UNA Esperienze in the centre of Turin hosts a project by the artist Franco Mazzucchelli (Milano, 1939), represented by the gallery ChertLüdde. The artist will present an inflatable PVC sculpture that transforms the space through its changing configuration and physical presence.
Two exhibitions also feature artists who received awards at the last edition of Artissima: Iris Touliatou, winner of the Pista 500 Prize in 2025, presents a project for the billboard of the Pista 500 at Pinacoteca Agnelli; Louis Morlæ, winner of the 2025 illy Present Future Prize, presents a solo exhibition at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.
Numerous projects at the fair respond to this edition’s theme, Fancy: A Flexible, Acrobatic Body, inspired by Martha C. Nussbaum’s vision.
The WoW–Worlds of Words project returns for its third edition with the aim of promoting publishing and those who shape it, recognising their essential role in disseminating contemporary culture. As part of the IDENTITY programme–developed by Artissima with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo—Artissima presents Moltitudini, a residency with Italian poet Laura Accerboni. Opening her practice to new forms of perception and engagement with contemporary art, Accerboni enters into dialogue with six artists working in Turin: Guglielmo Castelli, Sara Enrico, Giorgio Griffa, Tom Johnson, Marzia Migliora and Laura Pugno.
For this year's edition of Artissima Junior, a programme co-presented by Artissima and Turin-based football club Juventus, Francis Offman, this year’s artist-tutor, presents TOMORROW, PIECE BY PIECE. Offman will guide young participants in creating a collective project through a direct and engaging experience with contemporary art.
Artissima also welcomes anonymous art project, an initiative promoting contemporary Japanese art founded in 2023 by Japanese entrepreneur Hiroyuki Maki, heir to a family tradition in which philanthropy is a core value.
Artissima is pleased to present Il respiro della luce, a project under the patronage of Città di Torino led by the Archivio Oscar Piattella, which brings a long-overlooked work back onto the city's cultural map: the monumental glass apse created by Oscar Piattella in 1992 for the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Salute. A stand dedicated to Piattella's work will be presented at the fair.
