Blue Cube Foundation was founded in 2015 in Sofia. The foundation’s activities focus on projects, platforms, and initiatives that promote curatorial and artistic research, informal educational practices and exchange, community engagement, and new cultural policies oriented towards responsibility and sustainability.
In 2015, we created Swimming Pool, a space for contemporary art and curatorial research with a focus on intersectional and collaborative practices, art education, institutional critique, and institution-building. It hosts a year-round program in a central rooftop location featuring an empty outdoor pool built in the 1930s.
Since 2021, we have also run the Center for Social Vision, a platform and conceptual space for sharing knowledge, policies, and practices at the intersection of art and society. It fosters dialogue, reflection, and situated knowledge—understood as knowledge grounded in specific contexts and responsive to broader social and cultural narratives.
Since 2024, we have been organizing the Nine Elephants Festival, which supports artistic and interdisciplinary practices in urban environments.
