The National Institute of Architecture (of Lithuania) is a centre for architectural art research, heritage, initiatives, ideas, and discussions currently being created in Kaunas. Presenting the development, trends, history, and values of Lithuanian and foreign architecture, it will be located in a historic monument of Kaunas modernist architecture – the former Kaunas Central Post Office building on the main city street Laisvės al.
NAI will be the only institution in Lithuania to collect artefacts of national significance in the field of architecture and have a permanent exhibition on Lithuania’s architectural history. It will also encompass temporary exhibition spaces, a reading room with a library, a commission space, conference halls, artists residencies, a café, a digital work room, archives and a children’s education room.
