Bavani

In the villages of East Kurdistan, a wedding is soon approaching. Bavani captures the entire family preparing a gift in celebration.

Bavani is one of twelve films picked by the programmers of the fifth edition of the New York Kurdish Film and Cultural Festival as part of a special feature on e-flux Video & Film, streaming for two weeks from October 7–21 and accompanied by a conversation between the festival’s founder Xeyal Qertel and e-flux’s Lukas Brasiskis.
