Join us at e-flux on Tuesday, October 27, at 7pm for a presentation by Bogna Konior and Steve Goodman followed by a discussion. This event revolves around Bogna Konior’s recent The Dark Forest Theory of the Internet and Steve Goodman’s forthcoming Notes on the Third Ear. The presentations will engage a complex of ideas relating to synthetic intelligence, technologically augmented perception, and both strategic and tactical configurations of noise, silence, and deception. The program is presented as part of Unsound New York.

The discussion following the presentations will explore aesthetic and therapeutic responses to contemporary zones of conflict: the shift from shell shock to dronophobia; musical recalibrations of the booms, blasts, drones, and tones of war; and the sound-based rehabilitation work of the Overand Institute for Recovery Technologies, a new project by Bogna Konior and Yuliia Leites dedicated to research and development in civilian and veteran recovery in Ukraine.

Unsound New York is organized and presented by Fundacja Tone - Muzyka i Nowe Formy Sztuki and the Polish Cultural Institute New York, and is supported by Polish National Foundation. This project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland from the Culture Promotion Fund in partnership with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
