The Bachelor Fine Arts Department of the Royal Academy of Art (KABK), The Hague, has a vacancy for a new Head with a clear, inspirational educational vision relevant to the future and committed to the development of the next generation of artists. The new Head is well organized, able to listen carefully, communicate clearly is easily approachable, and enjoys engaging with students and staff.
We are looking for a Head who will be leading the implementation process of several important intended changes in educational vision, organizational structure, and curriculum, especially concerning enforcing safety, inclusion, and diversity within the department.
About the KABK Fine Arts department
The Fine Arts department is part of the Royal Academy of Art (KABK). Fine Arts has a population of around 200 students and 30 tutors spread over full-time, part-time and double-degree learning trajectories. The Head of Fine Arts leads the department with the assistance of two coordinators and four team leaders, who supervise the tutors’ teams for the first year and main phase students.
At the KABK, we welcome a multifaceted international population. With respect for difference and diversity, we nurture a community that offers ample room for individuality, but, equally importantly, creates an atmosphere that encourages mutual support, cooperation, and respect. We want our students’ art practices to arise from the discourses within their own communities and experience, in close dialogue with a wide range of other social groups.
As KABK highly values inclusion and diversity and since KABK has a multi-international population, we invite all who show interest in this function to apply.
