proyectoamil is pleased to invite you to the exhibition A Crumpled Sheet of Paper in the Shape of a Ball and Other Works by the renowned British artist Martin Creed. We will also present, for the first time in Lima, the rough cut of his feature film HOW TO LIVE, a coming-of-age story that follows the growth of a child seen through the eyes—and the hair—of a young woman. The film unfolds in episodes that trace conception, early childhood memories, high school, art education, and first love. After the screening, there will be a conversation with the artist.
Join us on Thursday, December 11, from 6pm onward to explore a selection of works spanning video, sound, installation, wall painting, and one of his celebrated balloon installations, Work No. 1562. This piece fills half the space with balloons and turns a simple instruction into a physical experience.
Martin Creed is known for his playful and provocative approach, blurring the boundaries between art and everyday life. Winner of the 2001 Turner Prize, his practice encompasses diverse media and often employs minimal gestures to challenge conventions and reframe the ordinary.
