Fundación Ama Amoedo announces the open call for the third edition of its 2025 Grants program. With the goal of supporting the Latin American art ecosystem, the Foundation will award a total of USD 100,000, divided into 10 grants of USD 10,000 each. Grants will be awarded in four categories: Artists (4 grants), Art and Social Engagement (2 grants), Organizations (2 grants), and Publications (2 grants). The Grants are open to artists, collectives, non-profit organizations, and institutions with a strong connection to Latin America—whether through nationality, cultural heritage, or the location of the proposed project. Applications are available online, and the Terms and Conditions can be downloaded in Spanish, Portuguese, and English from Fundación Ama Amoedo’s website.
The jury is composed of three external curators and one representative of the Fundación Ama Amoedo: José Roca (Estrellita B. Brodsky Curator at large of Latin American and Latin Diasporic Art, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington), Marielsa Castro Vizcarra (Chief Curator, Museo de Arte Moderno, Medellín), Susanna Temkin (Interim Chief Curator, El Museo del Barrio, New York) and Verónica Flom (Director, Fundación Ama Amoedo).
Application deadline: August 31, 2025
Artists Grants are aimed at individual artists and/or collectives working in the field of visual arts. Eligible proposals may include research or artistic production, such as the creation of new works for upcoming exhibitions, project development, or the archive or preservation of their own practice, among others.
Art and Social Engagement Grants support initiatives that use visual arts to create a positive social impact. This category is open to artists, collectives, foundations, and non-profits whose projects foster education, social inclusion, and community building through artistic practices and collaborative approaches.
Organizations Grants are intended to support specific projects led by institutions or non-profit organizations that promote, preserve, and disseminate the work of Latin American artists. Eligible initiatives include archives, public programs, cultural exchanges, and other activities that strengthen the art ecosystem.
Publications Grants aim to support art publications and editorial projects by Latin American artists. This category is open to non-profit artistic entities, individuals, and small to mid-sized publishing houses focused on producing and distributing art-related content, either in print or digital formats.
